Kutsuki (clan)
The Kutsuki ( Japanese 朽木 氏 , Kutsuki-shi ) were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ). The Kutsuki, who last lived in Fukuchiyama ( Kyoto Prefecture ), were among the smaller Fudai daimyo of the Edo period with an income of 32,000 koku .
Sasaki Nobutsuna ( 佐 々 木 信 綱 , 1181-1242) received after the Jōkyū War in 1221 for his services the fiefdom Kutsuki in the province of Ōmi and his great-grandson Yoshitsuna ( 義 sich ) named himself after this.

- Tanetsuna ( 稙 綱 ) was a loyal vassal of Ashikaga Yoshiharu at the beginning of the 16th century .
- Mototsuna ( 元 綱 ; 1549-1632), Tanetsuna's grandson, had three sons, among whom he divided his property. The oldest, Nobutsuna ( 宣 綱 ; 1582–1662), who continued the main branch, received 6350 koku, the other two, including Tanetsuna II, received 2000 koku each.
- Tanetsuna II. ( 稙 綱 ; 1605-1660) received in 1636 an increase in income from the family residence Kutsuki, which he became a daimyo and founded a branch of the family. In 1647 he was transferred to Kanuma ( Shimotsuke ) and then in 1649 to Tsuchiura ( Hitachi ) with 30,000 koku.
- Tanemasa ( 種 昌 ; 1643–1714), son of Tanetsuna II, was transferred to Fukuchiyama ( Tamba ) with 32,000 koku in 1669 , where he and his descendants resided until 1868. Then Vice Count .
