Kwakwani is a municipality on the Berbice River in the Upper Demerara-Berbice Province in the eastern part of Guyana .

Kwakwani is about 40 kilometers south of Linden . The mining of bauxite is the main industry. There is a high school in Kwakwani and a ferry to New Amsterdam has been in operation since the end of 2008. The town has an airport with the identification number SYKW.

During the flooding in January 2005, which also affected Kwakwani, the road connection to Linden was destroyed.
