Kyōko Sasage
Kyōko Sasage ( Japanese 捧 匡 子 , Sasage Kyōko ; born August 13, 1969 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a former badminton player from Japan .
Career
Sasage first attracted international attention when she qualified for the 1992 Summer Olympics in women's doubles with Tomomi Matsuo . In the first round they both won 2-0 sets against Bulgarians Diana Filipova and Diana Koleva at the Olympics . In the following round, however, the Japanese were defeated by Finarsih and Lili Tampi just as clearly in two sets, so that in the end 9th place was on the books.
Two years later, the women's doubles won bronze at the Asian Badminton Games, the only medal at major events.
Matsuo and Sasage won nationally in 1991 in women's doubles.
