The Kyffhäuser Gymnasium in Bad Frankenhausen is one of three high schools in the Kyffhäuserkreis .

The school consisted of two buildings until 2019 and has a total of 575 students, who are taught by around 45 teachers. One of the partner schools is the Lycée in Wingles , Northern France .

In the 2016/17 school year, the grammar school was a recognized internship school of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena for prospective teachers. The grammar school has been a recognized MINT school since 2017 .

From 2017 to 2019 a new school building was built on Bahnhofstrasse. The move took place on July 5, 2019; the school building was officially inaugurated on August 23, 2019.
