L&D GmbH is a German catering company based in the district of Ringen in the municipality of Grafschaft in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Ahrweiler . In addition to offers for classic event catering, catering for larger events, the company is mainly active in company catering. In 2019, L&D operated more than 1200 employees, including around 500 cooks, more than 90 employee restaurants on behalf of larger companies. According to the company, these canteens are frequented by around 40,000 guests every day.
history
The company was founded in 1974 as Lohmeier & Deimel by members of the Lohmeier and Deimel families. The company's remote kitchen in Mülheim-Kärlich initially delivered lunch portions to Trier and Koblenz. In the following years, a party service was set up and, from 1981, employee casinos were operated in six Bonn federal ministries and offices. Lohmeier & Deimel have been supplying school canteens, day-care centers and workshops for the disabled since the 1990s. L&D has been a subsidiary of the Italian CAMST group since 2003 , which in 2019 had 13,000 employees in several European countries and generated sales of 626 million euros. In 2016, a new company headquarters in the county of Grafschaft was moved.
