László Marton (sculptor)
László Marton (born November 5, 1925 in Tapolca ; died October 5, 2008 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian sculptor .
Life
László Martons talent was recognized early, so that he was accepted as a student at the Moholy Nagy School as early as 1940 . From 1946 to 1952 he was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of the sculptor Pál Pátzay .
Martons works have been exhibited many times, including internationally. His sculptures were displayed in public spaces both in the socialist Hungarian republic and after the political change. In 2000, a permanent exhibition was set up at his birthplace, Tapolca.
In addition to the sketches for his sculptures, Marton also painted watercolors. In 1995 he received the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic and in 2003 the Kossuth Prize .
