Noise pension

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Noise pension is the name for a temporary compensation for pain and suffering for residents of airports who are waiting for noise protection .

history

A noise pension was first paid in Munich, because the new airport there had agreed in a settlement at the time to pay unprotected citizens a monthly percentage of the soundproofing construction sum. In Munich, the airport operators had to pay a noise pension to all suffering residents until the problem of noise protection was solved, according to the Berliner Zeitung in 1996.

Current discussion in Berlin-Brandenburg

In the case of the newly built "Willy Brandt" Berlin-Brandenburg International airport , the required noise pension will not be available for those neighbors who, despite being affected and belonging to the group of people to be promoted, will not have adequate noise protection when the airport is opened.

The “Munich” term was hardly talked about nationwide in 1996/97, it did not come into circulation across Germany until 2012 and has overcome serious hurdles: a hearing in the state parliament of Brandenburg gave it publicity and broad approval in the parliamentary groups represented there . In the background is that just under 1000 of 15,500 noise-insulating windows in the houses of those Brandenburg airport residents have been modernized and there would only be a few weeks until they go into operation in early June 2012. The 2nd Flight Noise Protection VO measures continuous sound levels to assess the noise protection, which the operators want to undermine from the point of view of the citizens' initiatives. For example, airport boss Schwarz is blocking the noise pension concept because the airport has not deliberately delayed the noise protection measures.
