The Långshyttans Allmänna Idrottsklubb ( German: Långshyttans General Sportklub ) is a Swedish sports club from Långshyttan . The club's soccer team started a season in Sweden's second-highest division in the 1940s .

history

Långshyttans AIK was founded in 1921. Initially starting lower class, the footballers rose to the third division in 1938, but missed relegation without a win of the season as the relegated bottom of the table in their season. After the immediate resurgence, they established themselves in the front of the table and in 1943 they clearly won their third division season with six points ahead of second in the table Falu BS . In the subsequent promotion round, however, the team was defeated by Ljusne AIK . After a fourth place in the following year, the team repeated the relay victory in 1945. This time she prevailed in a decider against Alfta GIF, which became necessary after each narrow win in the regular games . In its second division season, however, the club had no chance of staying up and ended with seven points behind the last non-relegation place occupied by Sandvikens AIK , the place at the bottom of the table. In the following season, the team was the victim of a league reform when the number of third division relays was reduced from 17 to four after the end of the season and they were passed through to fourth division. With that she said goodbye to the higher class Swedish football.
