Långshyttan is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Dalarnas län and the historic province of Dalarna . It is located in the municipality of Hedemora and is about twenty kilometers north of the main town of Hedemora . The place has its own church, but the parish ( socks ) belongs to Husby . The oldest documented mention of it comes from 1427. Even then there was iron processing in the place.
The place is located at Länsväg 270 , so that the two cities of Borlänge and Falun , about thirty kilometers to the west, can be reached quickly. The narrow-gauge Byvalla – Långshyttan railway was closed in 1965.
