Husby is a place in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and the historical province of Dalarna .
The place, known since the 14th century, belongs to the municipality of Hedemora and is unofficially referred to as Dala-Husby because of its location in Dalarna to distinguish it from a large number of other villages with the same name in Sweden .
In 2010, the place had 256 inhabitants and was considered a crime scene , but then lost this status due to the excessive distance in the residential development according to the crime scene definition. Since then, the parts on both sides of the Dalälven river that divides the village have been designated as separate Småorter : a larger one on the left (northeast) bank of the river around the church and the center of the village with a school and shop, also marked as Smedby on maps , and a little smaller one on the right (southwest) bank of the river around the former crown estate Husby kungsgård with the district Koberga a little further away from the river.
