Léandre Pourcelot

Léandre Pourcelot (born September 7, 1940 in Orchamps-Vennes , France ) is an engineer and doctor who made a special contribution to the development of real-time ultrasound systems . He was one of the pioneers in clinical research on vascular examinations using Doppler sonography and developed the so-called Resistance Index (RI, Pourcelot Index), which describes the hemodynamic vascular resistance beyond the measuring point:
