Léon Kann (* 1859 in Dambach-la-Ville ; † 1925 ) was a French sculptor .

Life

Léon Kann studied sculpture with Aimé Millet and Pierre Louis Rouillard . His main focus was on the designs of smaller decorative objects, which he showed at the salons of the Société des Artistes Français .

He was active as a sculptor from 1896 to around 1915. From 1896 to 1998 and again from 1900 to 1908, cans designed for the porcelain manufactory Manufacture royale de porcelaine de Sèvres . The artistic director there, Alexander Sandier, followed the zeitgeist of Art Nouveau and had Kann design bold new shapes, glazes and decors with Hector Guimard , Joseph Chéret and Henri Lassere .
