Lövenich (Cologne district)

The community of Lövenich in the district of Cologne included the places Junkersdorf , Königsdorf , Lövenich and Weiden . Neighboring communities were Brauweiler in the north and Frechen in the south (both district of Cologne), the city of Cologne in the east and Hüchelhoven and Horrem (both district of Bergheim [Erft]) in the west. It covered an area of ​​17.26 km² and had 25,139 inhabitants (as of June 30, 1967).

The municipality was incorporated into the city of Cologne by Section 1 of the Cologne Act with effect from January 1, 1975. The district of Königsdorf came to the city of Frechen, some properties to the newly formed city of Pulheim .
