Lü Gong

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lü Gong ( Chinese  吕 公 ) was an officer of the Chinese warlord Liu Biao at the time of the Three Kingdoms . While almost nothing is known about him from historical sources, his character in Luo Guanzhong's novel The Story of the Three Realms takes on a clearer shape.

When Sun Jian launched an attack on Liu Biao in 191 , Lü Gong prepared an ambush: He had tree trunks (in another version boulders) piled on the mountain slopes, and as soon as Sun Jian rode through the pass towards the Han Jiang , he was slain by the falling tree trunks or rocks.
