The Lür-Kropp-Hof in Bremen - Oberneuland is a thatched Low German two-column half-timbered farm that is over 200 years old . The main house is embedded in the extensive park of the Lür-Kropp-Hof.

location

The Lür-Kropp-Hof park is located in Bremen about 9 kilometers east of the city center near the federal motorway 27 and can be reached from the Bremen-Vahr AB exit after about 1.9 kilometers via Franz-Schütte-Allee in a north-easterly direction .

timeline

The exact construction date of the courtyard is not known. The first documentary mention of the farm comes from the year 1589. This farm was owned by the Kropp family from November 16, 1664 until 1978. It got its name from the last male owner, von Lür Kropp, who ran the estate at the beginning of the 20th century. His daughter Meta Rödiger, nee Kropp, was the last of her tribe to live in the farmhouse. After her death in 1978, she bequeathed the farm to the state of Bremen.

In a will from 1970 the farm was bequeathed to the last owner of the municipality of Bremen “for the general public and for the non-profit interests and needs of the Oberneuland local authority”. The former head of the Oberneuland local office, Hinrich "Hinni" Kaemena, played a key role in the creation of this generous donation.

Extensive renovation and expansion work was carried out between 1978–1983, for which the Wohnliche Stadt Foundation provided considerable support. Some of the land has been transformed into a public park and the courtyard has been transformed into a living museum in collaboration with the Focke Museum. The establishment of a teaching apiary by the Bremen-Ost beekeeping association with regular tours and group tours upon registration complements the extensive park area of the Lür-Kropp-Hof.
