Lệ Thủy ( Huyện Lệ Thủy ) is a district in the province of Quảng Bình in central Vietnam . It has an area of ​​1,420.52 km² and has 140,804 inhabitants (1998). Its main town is Kiến Giang (Thị trấn Kiến Giang). It borders the Quang Ning District in the north and the Vinh Linh District in the south. In the west, the border with Laos forms its extension.

geography

The district extends from the coast of the South China Sea in the east over a small plain around the Kiến Giang River to the Truong Son Mountains in the west. It is crossed by National Road 1 and the railway line between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City . The Ho Chi Minh Trail led through the mountainous region in the west .

The district includes two small towns ( thấ trấn ) and 25 parishes ( ).

  • Cities: Kiến Giang and Nông Trường Lệ Ninh.
  • Parishes: Hồng Thuỷ, Ngư Hoà, Ngư Thuỷ, Thanh Thuỷ, Lộc Thuỷ, Hoa Thuỷ, Cam Thuỷ, Liên Thuỷ, Phong Thuỷ, An Thuỷ, Sơn Thuỷ, Ngân Thuỷ, Hải Thuỷ, Hưng Thuỷ, Xân Thuỷ, Tân Thuỷ, Tân Thu Dương Thuỷ, Mai Thuỷ, Phú Thuỷ, Mỹ Thuỷ (with the Hoằng Phúc Pagoda ), Sen Thuỷ, Trường Thuỷ, Văn Thuỷ, Kim Thuỷ, Thái Thuỷ.
