Coordinates: 34 ° 10 ′  S , 140 ° 45 ′  E The District Council of Renmark Paringa is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 916 km² and has about 9500 inhabitants (2016).

Renmark Paringa is located on the Murray River on the eastern border of South Australia and the state of Victoria and is about 220 kilometers east of the metropolis of Adelaide . The area includes 14 districts and towns: Calperum, Chaffey, Cooltong, Gurra Gurra, Lock No. 5, Lock No. 6, Lyrup, Murtho, Paringa, Pike River, Renmark , Renmark South, Renmark West and Wonuarra. The administrative headquarters of the council is in Renmark in the center of the LGA.

The Renmark Paringa council has nine members, the eight councilors and the chairman and mayor of the council are elected by the residents of the LGA. Renmark Paringa is not divided into districts.
