L'Osservatore della Domenica ( Italian for "The Observer on Sunday") is the name of an illustrated weekly magazine founded in 1934 in the Vatican .

history

Under the name L'Osservatore Romano della Domenica , the magazine was first published on May 6, 1934. It was founded on the initiative of L'Osservatore Romano boss Mario Baldelli .

In 1951 the magazine was given its current name L'Osservatore della Domenica . Since 1979 it has no longer been published on its own, but as a small-format supplement to the Saturday edition of the Osservatore Romano . The publisher is the Holy See , current editor-in-chief Giovanni Maria Vian .
