The locomotives with the numbers 9 and 10 of the Lokalbahn AG (LAG) were wet steam locomotives that were purchased for the Murnau – Garmisch-Partenkirchen line , which opened in 1889 .

The locomotives supplied by Krauss were similar to the Bavarian D VII , but had smaller coupling wheels and a larger heating and grate surface.

In 1908 the Bavarian State Railroad acquired the line and with it the two locomotives. They were listed as PtL 3/3 and were given the numbers 1875 and 1876.

The Deutsche Reichsbahn took over both locomotives as class 98 76 in 1925 , but retired them as early as 1927.
