The C 2 21 with the nickname Giardiniera is one of the two original and different two-axle passenger cars of the Lugano-Cadro-Dino-Bahn . It is characterized by its open construction as a summer wagon with continuous wooden bench backrests that can be folded down in the direction of travel, in contrast to the C 2 11 , which is a closed passenger car with fixed bench seats.

The Lugano-Cadro-Dino-Bahn (LCD for short), which was electrically operated from the start , had just seven vehicles when it opened in 1911: four identical railcars and three different passenger and freight cars.

In 1943, two additional bench seats were added to the end platforms that were still open at the time, increasing the number of seats. In connection with the class reform in 1956, the summer car was renamed to the B 2 21.

After the conversion of the Lugano – Cadro – Dino railway line to bus operation, the excess passenger car was initially parked in the La Santa depot in Lugano in 1970 and sold to private customers in 1972. In 1975 this was then parked outdoors in Tesserete , away from the railway line. In 1990 the privately owned car was given to the Blonay – Chamby museum railway . They refurbished the car and started operating again in 1995 with the original designation, the original central buffer coupling and, in addition to the vacuum brake, a compressed air brake. In 2011, on the occasion of the centenary of the car, it was given the original paintwork.
