Tesserete is a former political municipality in the district of Capriasca , in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland .

The village is 532 m above sea level. M. in Val Capriasca, seven kilometers north of Lugano .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1289 under the then name Tesserario . The community is mentioned in 1335. 1413 a castrum is called Tesserete . There, on October 13, 1413, the Roman-German King Sigismund began negotiations with the Pope's legates, and it was agreed to hold the ecumenical council in Constance . In the first half of the 15th century, Tesserete had to provide 17 soldiers for the Duke of Milan . In 1473 a noble family Grassi von Tesserete is mentioned. A drawing school was founded in 1843 and the Lugano-Tesserete railway opened in 1909.

Community merger

On October 15, 2001, Tesserete merged with Campestro and the Odogno, Cagiallo , Lopagno , Roveredo Capriasca , Sala Capriasca and Vaglio fraction to form the new municipality of Capriasca .
