Corticiasca with the Albumo fraction is a former political municipality in the Capriasca district in the Lugano district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland .

geography

The village lies at an altitude of 1070 m above sea level. M. in Val Colla (valley) , at the southern foot of Monte Bar (1816 m above sea level) and 18 km north of Lugano .

history

In 1574 the village was first mentioned in writing as Cortizascha. At the end of the 19th century a part of the village was destroyed by a landslide. This part of the village is now called "Corticiasca vecchia" (old Corticiasca) by the locals and, in contrast to the part of the village, Albumo, is only sparsely populated.

Community merger

On April 20th, 2008 it merged with Bidogno and Lugaggia to form the new municipality of Capriasca .
