Ponte Capriasca is a municipality in the district of Capriasca , in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Ponte Capriasca is 447 m above sea level. M. a few kilometers north of Lugano . This place is famous for its church dedicated to Saint Ambrogio. This church has a painting of Jesus' Last Supper (Cenacolo) or Ultima Cena .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1335 under the then name Ponte .

Community merger

Merger efforts were under way with the municipality of Origlio , and the new municipality name was applied for Ponte Origlio . The project was dropped in December 2013 after negative votes in the municipalities.

  • Francesco Airoldi (born September 8, 1775 in Ponte Capriasca, † August 13, 1834 in San Secondo Parmense ), politician, former captain of the Italian Guard, played a major role in the turmoil caused by the cantonal constitutional change in 1814. He was the head of the uprising. On August 15, 1815, the Ticino court in contumaciam, which had been given special powers by the Diet, sentenced him to death, and all of his property was confiscated.
