Cagiallo with fraction Oggio is a former political municipality in the district of Capriasca , in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland .

geography

The village lies at 525 m above sea level. M. on the road Tesserete - Bidogno , at the entrance to the Val Colla (valley) and eight kilometers northeast of Lugano .

history

In the first half of the 15th century the village had to provide 35 soldiers for the Duke of Milan . In 1501 the village was partly cremated by the Swiss. Cagiallo belonged to the parish of Tesserete , which it paid a levy of 51 lire in the 18th century.

Community merger

On October 15, 2001, Cagiallo and Campestro merged with Odogno, Lopagno , Roveredo Capriasca , Sala Capriasca , Tesserete and Vaglio to form the new municipality of Capriasca .
