La Catalana de Lletres

La Catalana de Lletres was a literary award for Catalan poetry from 2003 to 2006 . It was hosted by the Catalunya Cultura radio station and financed by Catalunya Ràdio and the publishing house Cossetània Edicions.

Poems in Catalan by living authors could be submitted. There were no stylistic restrictions. Each author could submit up to five texts. The competition was determined by the following procedure: Each week five selected poems were broadcast. A commissioner decided which poems should make it to the final round. A jury made up of well-known personalities from Catalan- language literature selected the winners. The poems were featured on the Catalunya Cultura Literatura program.

The award included the publication of an anthology with all the texts from the final round as well as a selection of the best texts from the radio broadcasts. All anthologies were printed by Cossetània Edicions. The jury also reserved the right to recommend the publication of a volume of poetry with poems by the winner.

La Catalana de Lletres presented authors from the Catalan countries , such as Òscar Palazón Ferré, Teresa Serramià i Samsó, Joan Albert de la Peña Guasch and Irene Tarrés Canimas, but also authors from other countries such as the Austrian Klaus Ebner or Maridès Soler from Germany .
