description

Trifolium grandiflorum is an annual , herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 10 to 30 centimeters. The flower stalks are 1 millimeter long. The fruit heads are terminal, egg-shaped, loose and 13 to 30 millimeters thick; the stalks rise above the leaves 2 to 3 times. The crown is 8 to 10 millimeters in size and colored purple.

The flowering period extends from April to June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

The distribution area of Trifolium grandiflorum includes the eastern Mediterranean . The species grows in bushes and ravines at altitudes from 0 to 1600 meters. Their locations are often in the penumbra.
