La Chanson

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

La Chanson was a radio broadcast that was broadcast weekly between 1969 and 1999, initially on Ö3 and later on Ö1 . As the name suggests, the program consisted exclusively of French-language music and was designed by Heinz-Christian Sauer . It was moderated by the actor Peter Schratt until 1979 and then by the designer himself until 1999. The broadcasting time ranged from half an hour to 45 minutes. The aim of La Chanson was to make the chanson known to a wider audience in Austria, in which the text emerges as the essence and the music has the task of underlining the text.

The entire history of France and its political events, beginning in the Middle Ages, was and is still reflected in the chansons today. There is no topic that has not been and is not taken up by the texts; The Chansons thus presents a form of contemporary history.

Each program of "La Chanson" was either about a certain artist or a certain topic, such as tears . Sometimes certain years were also considered in the chanson: then the programs had titles such as Das Chanson von 40 Jahre . The moderator presented the titles - always played out in full - told about their performers or their social occasion and provided the translation.

The broadcasting slot changed several times: in the mid-1990s in the late Saturday evening program on Ö1 (1995–1997), La Chanson could then be heard on Fridays in the framework program of Spielzimmer on Ö1; In recent years, always on Tuesday evening between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., with the program being repeated the next morning for a few years.

The last broadcast took place on June 15, 1999 after well over 1,500 broadcasts. Declared follow-up programs do not exist in the radio programs of the ORF , but there are always chanson themes in the game rooms or in the Sunday series special games rooms .

The ORF archive contains a large number of programs that have been digitized over the years and can be bought there as CDs.
