La Draga ( Banyoles , Pla de l'Estany ) is a wet soil settlement of the late Cardial culture or early Epi-Cardial in Catalonia . It was discovered in 1990 while building a park on Estany de Banyoles . Since it was 1 meter below today's lake level, it is characterized by a good preservation of organic remains. It was partially excavated in 1991–92 after rescue operations in 1990. A total of 284 m² was excavated. The culture layers are 20-30 cm thick and covered by a layer of peat . Today there is a museum village on the site.
