La Esmeralda is a French short film from 1905. Directed by Alice Guy-Blaché and Victorin-Hippolyte Jasset . This film is the first film adaptation of the Hunchback of Notre-Dame . The film is considered lost . However, there are some stills from the film that show Quasimodo being held by some guards and Esmeralda flirting with a man on a horse.
