La bandera argentina is a three-minute silent film directed by Eugène Py in 1897 . Eugene Py was supported by the German cameraman Federico Figner in the shooting of this film. The film has a great historical significance for the Argentine film history. Because of its subject matter (the flag is the symbol of national unity), this film is considered the first in Argentina , but in fact three short films with views of Buenos Aires were shown on November 24, 1896 ( Vistas de Palermo , Avenida de Mayo and Plaza de Mayo ), which also come from Figner.
