The Lac La Biche ( Cree Waskesiu Sakhahegan , " Moose Lake") is a lake in the Canadian province of Alberta .
The lake is 160 km northeast of Edmonton . The small town of the same name is located on the southern shore of the lake . The Owl River is the tributary of Lac La Biche . The La Biche River drains the lake northwest to the Athabasca River . The lake has a total area of 236 km². 3.2 km² of this is island area. The Lac La Biche Provincial Bird Sanctuary extends over the lake and its adjacent banks. Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park is located on an island in the eastern part of the lake, which is connected to the land by a dam .
