The Lac des Settons is a reservoir in the French department Nièvre , about 30 kilometers northwest of Autun .
The lake, which has been dammed up since 1858, is 3.6 km² in size and is one of the most important reservoirs of the Morvan .
It accumulates from the river Cure and several other streams and is an important water sports center in the region. The dam of the Lac des Settons, like that of the 11 km south-west Lac de Pannecière-Chaumard, was used by the German Empire as one of the reparations payments of the Versailles Treaty established after the lost First World War . If the water of the Lac de Pannecière-Chaumard is drained, a preserved road bridge that once crossed the river still appears today.
