The Lachal Bluffs are a group of cliffs on the Mawson Coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . They rise up just south of the island of Ufsøy .
Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them after Robert Paul Lachal (* 1943), assistant cook and assistant geologist at Mawson Station in 1965, who was part of the Australian rowing eight at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo .
