Lade is a district of Trondheim in Norway . It is located northeast of the city center on a peninsula in the Trondheimfjord and north of Lademoen .

The area is characterized by suburban development, supermarkets, industry and recreation areas. It was the seat of the Ladejarle , who ruled Trøndelag and Hålogaland from the 9th to 11th centuries . There are two secondary schools in Lade: the Ladejarl School and the Ringve School.

During the Second World War , the German Air Force had an airfield in Lade. After that, civil flights were made from the airfield until 1965. In 1958 a tram connection , Ladelinjen, was built from Lade to Prinsensstraße, which has not existed since 1988. In that year all tram rides in Trondheim were stopped. Remains of the old tram tracks can still be seen. On August 18, 1990, AS Gråkallbanen resumed traffic on the St. Olavsgate – Lian route, but not to Lade.

On the peninsula where Ark is located, there is a museum of musical instruments, the Ringve Museum - housed in an old farm -, a botanical garden, also in Ringve, and a large farm, Lade Gård . There is also a large shopping center in Lade, City Lade , which opened on May 6, 2004. It has an area of 25,000 square meters.

There is a hiking trail (“Ladestien”) along the Trondheimfjord on the loading peninsula, which leads from Rotvoll via Ringve towards the fjord through the forest to Østmarka and then to Trondheim harbor. On the way you can see some bunkers from the Second World War and a lighthouse .
