Charging station
A charging station is a stationary electrical device or an electrical system that is used to supply mobile battery-operated devices, machines or vehicles (e.g. electric forklifts , electric cars , lawnmowers, etc.) with energy by simply inserting or inserting the energy storage device (such as the traction battery in electric cars).
In contrast to a mobile charger (e.g. for cell phones , digital cameras , cordless screwdrivers , electric toothbrushes, etc.), the charging station is assigned to a location (stationary). The device to be charged is fed to it.
The electrical energy for charging can be transmitted via an automatically produced, electrically conductive plug connection or inductively .

Historical meaning of the term
From the 19th century onwards, the term charging station was associated with the freight station (for small customers), which is mostly no longer there today, since most of the freight stations still in operation today are only used as container stations or transfer stations for siding due to structural change.
