The Ladies First are about 40 women strong Barbershop - Choir in Dortmund .
They dedicated themselves to the harmony- oriented four-part singing style of the American southern states , the barbershop, but also sing German pieces and especially jazz.
The ladies became choir champions several times at the Barbershop in Germany Convention (BinG), for example in 1993, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
The Musical Director (MD, choir director ) of the Ladies is the longtime bass - singer of the earlier quartets Ruhr Valley Company and Cadillac, Manfred Adams. He was also long-term chairman of the BinG Association, Barbershop in Germany, in the 1990s and from 2004 to 2016.
In 2003, the Ladies First were also German champions in the jazz category of the German Singers Association .
Her third CD was released in 2015.
Several, mostly quite successful, quartets emerged from the ranks of the choir members. The most successful quartet was the Splash formation , which became Quartet Champion at the 1998 and 2002 BinG Convention .
