The Laguna Blanca is a lake in the Andina Eduardo Abaro National Park in the Sur Lípez province in the Potosí department in the extreme southwest of Bolivia . The wash-in of minerals creates the characteristic white color from which the lake takes its name. The Laguna Blanca is 5.6 km long and 3.5 km wide. It lies at an altitude of 4350 m .
Directly to the west of the Laguna Blanca and about twenty meters lower is the Laguna Verde , whose green color varies between light turquoise and dark green. The two lakes are bounded to the south by the Licancabur and the Juriques , to the west by the Sairecabur and to the north by the Cerro Nelly , all of which rise up to more than 5500 meters.
