The Laguna Colorada is a shallow (average 0.5 m and at the deepest point 1.5 m deep), 60 km² large lake in the Reserva Nacional de Fauna Andina Eduardo Abaroa , the national park animal world of the Andes "Eduardo Avaroa" , in the southern part of the Altiplanos in the Bolivian Department of Potosí at an altitude of 4278 m above sea level. It belongs to the province of Sur Lípez .

The lake got its name because of its striking red color, which is caused by the predominant type of algae and the high mineral content of its water.

The lake is known for its large populations of flamingos of the three species Chileflamingo , Yellow-footed or Andean flamingo and James or short-billed flamingo .

The Laguna Colorada is very remote and therefore only accessible via jeep tours from Uyuni , Tupiza or San Pedro de Atacama .
