Lake Antoine is one of two crater lakes on the Caribbean - island Grenada .
geography
The shallow lake is located in the northeast of the island in the area of the Parish Saint Patrick . It is only about 400 m in diameter and is bordered by the low crater rim, which also closes it off to the east coast. Only about 600 m further east is the High Cliff Point , which is an extension of the volcano and overlooks the coast. The settlements near the lake are: River Sallee in the north, Mount Rose in the west and La Poterie and Tivoli in the south. The River Antoine Distillery is also located near La Poterie . A circular route was originally laid out, but it is no longer maintained.
nature
Agriculture is practiced on the north and west edges of the lake. The eastern edge is left to nature. There can be observed especially various species of birds: Karibenblässhuhn ( Fulica caribaea ), ruddy duck ( Oxyura jamaicensis ), herons, Schneckenweih ( Rostrhamus sociabilis ), rice finch ( Oryzoborus crassirostris ), Gray-tyrant ( Tyrannus dominicensis ) and Rallenkranich ( Aramus guarauna )
