Lakehead Hill East
Lakehead Hill East (also called Lakehead Hill 4th Cairn, Cist and Stone Row ) is a stone box in a stone circle and row of stones near Longaford Tor, west of Bellever in Devon , England .
A row of stones about 12.0 m long consisting of 11 stones leads to a rudimentary stone circle and a cairn that has gone out , which surround a stone box. The compact stone box consists of six bearing stones and a large, almost rectangular cap stone.
The series suffered the fate of being excavated and "restored" in 1895 by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee. Many of today's features are believed to be non-original. But the kink in the row is similar to many other rows on the moors. No finds were made.
The Bellever Tor Cairns and a number of other, but more disturbed, monuments are nearby . The exception is the stone chest in Lakehead Hill 2 county .
