The Lakmos ( Greek Λάκμος also Peristeri Περιστέρι, Lakmon Λάκμων, Lakmonas Λάκμωνας) is a 2295  m high mountain range on the hills of southern Pindos -Gebirges. It is located east of Ioannina , south of Metsovo and northwest of Kalambaka in the Ioannina regional unit of the Epirus region .

The name Peristeri is also used for the highest peak of the Lakmos. Alternatively, this summit is also known as Tsoukarela . Other peak points of the Lakmos are Asprovrissi (2040 m), Kritharia (1640 m), Lakomata (2020 m), Pyramidia (2040 m), Salatoura (2125 m), Koukies (1717 m), Soutomio (2047 m), Kalogiros (2106 m) and Tsouma Plastari (2188 m), which also marks the transition to the Athamanon or Tzoumerka massif to the south with the Kakarditsa summit .

The Lakmos is surrounded on three sides by rivers , some of which arise from the Lakmos massif. In the west the Lakmos massif borders the valley of the Arachthos , in the north there is the Metsovitikos, which flows into the Arachthos in the northwest of the Lakmos. In the east runs the Acheloos , which also rises on the eastern flank of the Lakmos at an altitude of about 2000 m. The Kalaritikos River runs in the south, which joins the Monodendri stream to form the Melissourgiotikos River and flows away to the southeast. The Lakmos also forms the watershed between the Arachthos in the west and the Acheloos in the east.

On the northern edge of the Lakmos, the national road 6 ( European route 92 ) from Ioannina to Metsovo and Kalambaka runs through the Metsovitikos valley . Highway 2 runs on the northern side of the same valley opposite the Lakmos .

The Lakmos massif is a biotope worth protecting under the NATURA2000 program. The area of the protected area covers 20,020 hectares with an average altitude of 1700 m above sea level. The Lakmos Massif is also home to bears.
