Lakuffe

Lakuffe was a measure of volume in Guinea and Lagos and was used in the grain trade . The term was derived from the container woven from rushes and reeds that held the amount of grain . The measure was the so-called sachet and corresponded to about 1 bushel or the English. Bushel .

A smaller measure was used for corn on the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe (then known as Prince's Island) with 3 ¼ liters or ¼ French boisseau .
