The scythe forge at the upper Absang , also Saganger , Unterhaindl , Junghaindl or Edelhof is a listed ensemble of industrial culture in Micheldorf in Upper Austria in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district . The sickle and scythe mill was built before 1595 and shut down in 1869.
location
The Unterhaindl is located north of the town of Kremsdorf in the cadastral community of Mittermicheldorf in the vicinity of the former scythe forge on the lower Absang (Pogner). The Krems runs some distance today, the two scythe smiths on the Absang were powered by an artificially created fluder.
history
Sickles were produced on the Unterhaindl for the longest time before the switch to scythe production in 1863.
Buildings
The ensemble once consisted of numerous buildings, of which the manor house is still preserved today.
