Lamé is an impact crater on the front of the moon on the eastern edge of Mare Fecunditatis , southeast of Langrenus crater and east of Vendelinus . The crater has been severely eroded and the wall has been covered by other impacts several times.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the French mathematician Gabriel Lamé .
