Vendelinus is a large impact crater to the east of the lunar front , on the eastern edge of Mare Fecunditatis , south of Langrenus crater and north of Petavius . The rim of the crater is heavily eroded, the bottom of the crater is largely flat except for the secondary craters.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Flemish astronomer Govaert Wendelen .
