The Lamin Lodge is a well known tourist destination in the West African country Gambia .

geography

By its namesake and the nearby village of Lamin lying Lodge approximately 1.7 kilometers and is located in the mangrove forest and nature reserve Tanbi Wetland Complex . The lodge is built in an angled design over three floors directly in the mangrove forest. In the pile construction it stands directly in brackish water and can be reached by pirogues or from land via a jetty.

The wooden structure was destroyed by fire on April 30, 2000, but rebuilt that same year.

tourism

Tourists as well as locals come here in large numbers to experience the mangrove forest ecosystem in the Tanbi Wetland Complex and to observe the numerous marsh and water birds. Fish and prawns are to be highlighted among the dishes offered by the restaurant under German management.
