Lamb fountain in Karlsruhe

The Lammbrunnen (also known as the fountain of youth ) in Karlsruhe was a monument in the public space of the city of Karlsruhe, located at Kaiserstraße 145 in front of the corner of Lammstraße in the east of the city center. Donated by Karlsruher Lebensversicherung AG on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, it was created by the sculptor Karl-Henning Seemann between 1983 and 1986. It is made of bronze and reaches a height of over 2 meters.

According to the motif of the fountain of youth, old people and sheep step into the water, are whirled up and come out rejuvenated or come out as lambs.

In 2010 the sculpture was dismantled and stored for construction-related reasons. A re-installation at the old location is planned.
