The State Office for Mining, Geology and Minerals of Brandenburg (LBGR) is a state authority of the State of Brandenburg , as technical and management authority overseeing the mining companies in the states of Brandenburg and Berlin exercises. The office is based in Cottbus and has a branch in Kleinmachnow .
The LBGR is subordinate to the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics, Labor and Energy . For Brandenburg, the LBGR is also the State Geological Service and the special regulatory authority to ward off dangers in the area of old mining . Further tasks are in the area of national geology.
As part of a state treaty between the state of Berlin and the state of Brandenburg, the LBGR is also the mining authority for the state of Berlin.
The LBGR has been publishing the journal Brandenburg Geoscientific Contributions since 1994 .
