The State Bibliography Baden-Württemberg is a regional bibliography for the State of Baden-Württemberg . It is created jointly by the Badische Landesbibliothek (Karlsruhe) and the Württembergische Landesbibliothek (Stuttgart).

In accordance with its character as a regional bibliography , the state bibliography refers to independent literature (books and brochures) as well as dependent literature (articles from magazines or anthologies) about the state of Baden-Württemberg , individual (also historical) parts of the state and personalities of the state. Literature that has not appeared in bookshops is also taken into account. For the desired completeness, the property of both state libraries as deposit copy libraries is an important prerequisite.

The Baden-Württemberg State Bibliography is linked to the Virtual German State Bibliography .

The database , which is technically operated by the state statistical office , is part of the state information system .

history

Wilhelm Heyd founded the bibliography of Württemberg history as early as 1895 . In 1915 Friedrich Lautenschlager was commissioned to compile a bibliography of Baden history ; the first volume appeared in 1929.

After the municipal reorganization of Baden-Württemberg in 1973, both bibliographies were merged. 21 volumes had appeared by 2004.

Since 1986, the state libraries have been supported in compiling the state bibliography of Baden-Württemberg by the data processing of the state statistical office. The state bibliography has been available on the Internet since the end of 1999.

The Commission for Historical Regional Studies , which had taken over the printing of the volumes until 2004, has since supported the incorporation of the first volumes (before 1986) into the database. This work was completed in 2015.
