The Landesehrenpreis Office Agency is in the state of Hessen means to promote civic and voluntary work . This was established on August 1, 2001 . The seat is in Wiesbaden . It is a nationwide unique facility.

aims

The goals are:

  • Creation of positive framework conditions for civic engagement
  • Development of diverse support and funding structures for voluntary engagement at the municipal level
  • Promotion and dissemination of innovative approaches to civic engagement
  • Establishment of a municipal network for civic engagement

Working method

In cooperation with interested municipalities, diverse approaches to promoting voluntary and civic engagement are to be developed and tested at the municipal level. The agency contributes to these initiatives. a. through the following activities:

  • Support of municipalities in model projects to promote voluntary work (advice, networking)
  • Offer of support such as work aids, signposts or practical aids
  • Provision of a pool of ideas (e.g. exemplary projects, innovative approaches, further training offers and opportunities to do voluntary work)
  • Train specialists on the subject of volunteering and organize the exchange of specialists
  • Representing interests for voluntary work, lobbying

Specific activities were:

  • Around 50 experienced volunteers have been trained to become so-called “engagement pilots” at seven locations throughout Hessen.
  • Over 700 people were informed about the funding opportunities for volunteering as part of the “Citizens' Engagement Forum” series of events.

With the help of the volunteer agency, support programs for voluntary work were set up in Hessen:

  • Accident and liability insurance for all volunteers
  • A volunteer card that offers volunteers a variety of discounts throughout Hessen
  • In Hessen, volunteer work by students is documented on school reports

organization

The state honorary office is part of the volunteer campaign "Active Together - Citizen Engagement in Hesse" of the Hessian state government.

Stephan Würz is the managing director . The financing (budget approx. € 250,000) is provided by funds from the State of Hesse and business subsidies.
